ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION
Voters who have a valid (unexpired and not suspended or revoked) and current Wisconsin driver’s license or a valid Wisconsin ID card issued by the Division of Motor Vehicles can register to vote online. The license number or ID card number will serve as their proof of residence submission.
VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Voters are required to show a photo ID at the polls on Election Day. Voters who request an absentee ballot by paper application to their municipal clerk must send a photocopy of their photo ID with the application. Voters who meet the requirements for using the online voter registration system also may use the online system to request an absentee ballot by providing their driver’s license or state ID number. (Note: The address on a voter’s ID does not have to be current and the name on the ID does not need to be an exact match for the name in the poll book.)
