VOTER REGISTRATION GUIDE
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- In order to register to vote in Arizona, a person must be a United States citizen, a resident of Arizona and of the county in which they register, and at least 18 years old.
- Voters must not have been adjudicated incapacitated by a court of law; and
- Voters must not have been convicted of a felony, unless your civil rights have been restored.
ONLINE VOTER REGISTRATION
Arizonans with an Arizona driver’s license or Arizona nonoperator ID card issued by the Motor Vehicle Division after Oct. 1, 1996, can register to vote online. Registrants using the online voter registration system are required to enter the number from their Arizona driver’s license or nonoperator ID card. That number will serve as their documentary proof of citizenship and no further submission of proof will be required.
VOTER IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Arizona requires that all voters present identification when they vote. There are three combinations of photo ID you can use to verify identity to vote. The combinations of IDs are as follows:
List #1: Present ONE ID from the following list:
- Valid Arizona driver license;
- Valid Arizona nonoperator identification card;
- Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification (that cannot be determined on its face to be expired);
- Valid United States federal-, state- or local government-issued identification.
List #2: Present TWO IDs from the following list:
- Utility bill of the elector dated within 90 days of the date of the election; a utility bill may be for electric, gas, water, solid waste, sewer, telephone, cellular phone or cable television;
- Bank or credit union statement dated within 90 days of the date of the election;
- Valid Arizona vehicle registration;
- Indian census card;
- Property tax statement of the elector’s residence;
- Tribal enrollment card or other form of tribal identification;
- Arizona vehicle insurance card;
- Recorder’s certificate;
- Valid United States federal-, state- or local government-issued identification, including a voter registration card issued by the county recorder;
- Any mailing to the elector marked “Official Election Material.”
List #3: Mix and match from Lists #1 and #2 (two IDs required)
- Any valid photo identification from List 1 in which the address does not reasonably match the precinct register accompanied by a nonphoto identification from List 2 in which the address does reasonably match the precinct register;
- U.S. passport without address and one valid item from List 2;
- U.S. military identification without address and one valid item from List 2.
